TOWN OF HUME

MARCH 6, 2012

 

A special meeting of the Hume Town Board, Allegany County, New York was held at the Town of Hume Office, 20 North Genesee Street, Fillmore, New York on March 6, 2012.  Supervisor Dennis Ricketts called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM, and he led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

 

Officials in attendance were Supervisor Dennis Ricketts; Councilmen Christopher Austin, Bruce Hinz, Gregory McKurth, and Daniel Miller; Highway Superintendent Kevin Peet; Attorney David Pullen; Deputy Town Clerk Joanne Cockle; and Town Clerk Sondra MacEwan.

 

The meeting was called to discuss Human Resource issues.

 

Supervisor Dennis Ricketts moved that the Board enter Executive Session to discuss personnel issues. Councilman Austin seconded the motion. 5 ayes, 0 noes.

 

The Board entered Executive Session at 7:02 PM, and they returned to Open Meeting at 8:17 PM upon a motion made by Councilman Austin, seconded by Councilman Miller and passed with a 5 aye, 0 no vote.

 

Councilman Austin moved that the Town of Hume eliminate one Water and Wastewater Maintenance position in the Town of Hume’s Water and Sewer Department. Councilman Miller seconded the motion. 5 ayes, 0 noes.

 

Councilman McKurth moved that James Mills, currently holding that position, and with the least seniority, be laid off effective at the end of the workday on March 7, 2012.  Councilman Miller seconded the motion. 5 ayes, 0 noes.

 

Appropriate notifications will be issued and letters entered into the personnel files.

 

Supervisor Ricketts moved that the meeting be adjourned. Councilman Austin seconded the motion. 5 ayes, 0 noes. Meeting adjourned at 8:20 PM.

 

The next regular meeting of the Hume Town Board will be March 14, 2012 at 7:00 PM at the Town of Hume Museum.
