TOWN OF HUME

SEPTEMBER 24, 2012

 

The Hume Town Board, Allegany County, New York held a Budget Meeting on September 24, 2012 at the Town of Hume Museum, 10842 Claybed Road, Hume, New York. Supervisor Ricketts called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM, and he then led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

 

Officials attending: Supervisor Ricketts; Councilmen Christopher Austin, Bruce Hinz and Gregory McKurth; Highway Superintendent Kevin Peet; Historian Rondus Miller; Deputy Town Clerk Joanne Cockle; and Town Clerk Sondra MacEwan.

 

Councilman Daniel Miller was absent.

 

Consideration of the 2013 budget continued from the September 19, 2012 meeting.

 

Historian Rondus Miller commented on the salary for the Town Historian, but the focus of the meeting was on the Highway and Sidewalk budget lines.

 

Bridge repairs, utilities, and the apportionment of salaries to varying departments were discussed. The Board agreed that a Capital Reserve Fund for Bridge Repair needed to be established.

 

J. O’Connell and Associates, Inc., will be asked to investigate a grant for safe walkways along highways leading to and from the school.

 

Christopher Austin moved that the meeting be adjourned, and Councilman Hinz seconded. 4 ayes, 0 noes. Meeting adjourned at 8:25 PM.

 

The Board will meet on September 27, 2012 at 7:00 PM at the Museum to continue budget discussions.
