TOWN OF HUME

A special meeting of the Hume Town Board, Allegany County, New York was held at the Town of Hume Museum, 10842 Claybed Road, Hume, New York on October 19, 2011.  Deputy Supervisor Daniel Miller called the meeting to order at 6:30 PM, and he led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

 

Town officials in attendance included: Supervisor Dennis Ricketts; Council members Christopher Austin, Bryce Bower, Gregory McKurth and Daniel Miller; Highway Superintendent Kevin Peet; Water & Sewer Superintendent Dana Potter; and Clerk Sondra MacEwan.

 

The Special Meeting was called to work on the Tentative 2012 Budget. Council members and department heads discussed streamlining the budget, with an emphasis on reducing the amount of fund balance used to maintain any possible increase. The 2% cap limit was a major topic.

 

Water & Sewer Superintendent Dana Potter questioned a proposal to discontinue use of the Water/Sewer Garage. Space needs for that department and upkeep costs were discussed.

 

Councilman Austin moved that the Board adopt the Tentative Budget after removal of $50000.00 from budget line DA5130.2E. Councilman Bower seconded. 5 ayes, 0 noes.

 

Councilman Austin moved that a Public Hearing be held on November 2, 2011 at 7:00 PM at the Museum to hear any person regarding the 2012 Preliminary Budget. Councilman Miller seconded. 5 ayes, 0 noes.

 

The Board the Cold Creek Grant funding. Notice was received that the funding will be coming through.

 

Attorney David Pullen submitted his opinion on the questioned paving bill from Central Roadways for paving at the ball field. After consideration, Councilman Austin moved that payment be authorized, and Councilman Miller seconded.  5 ayes, 0 noes.

 

Councilman Miller moved that the meeting be adjourned. Councilman Austin seconded. 5 ayes, 0 noes.  Meeting adjourned at 9:20 PM.
