TOWN OF HUME
October 29, 2012
The Hume Town Board,
Allegany County, New York held a special meeting and Public Hearing at the Town
of Hume Museum, 10842 Claybed Road, Hume, New York on October 29, 2012.
Supervisor Dennis
Ricketts opened the meeting at 7:00 PM, and he led the Pledge of Allegiance to
the Flag.
Town officials in
attendance included: Supervisor Dennis
Ricketts; Council members Daniel Miller, Gregory McKurth; Deputy Clerk Joanne
Cockle. Highway Superintendent Kevin Peet
arrived at 7:10 PM. Absent: Council members Bruce Hinz and Christopher
Austin.
Supervisor Ricketts
declared the Public Hearing concerning the Preliminary 2013 Budget open at 7:03
PM for comment. There were no residents
present for discussion.
General discussion was
held during the open Public Hearing.
Councilman Miller
moved that the Public Hearing be closed, and Councilman McKurth seconded the
motion. 3 ayes, 0 noes, 2 absent. Hearing closed at 7:18 PM.
Councilman Miller
moved that the 2013 Town of Hume Budget be adopted; Councilman McKurth seconded
the motion. 3 ayes, 0 noes, 2
absent.
There was discussion
on Hurricane Sandy and Halloween Night this week. Councilman McKurth made a motion to authorize the Town
Supervisor, at his discretion and if necessary, to change Trick or Treat night
from Wednesday, 10/31/12, to Saturday, 11/3/12, at the same times 6:00 – 8:00
PM. Councilman Miller seconded the
motion. 3 ayes, 0 noes, 2 absent.
It was noted that “The
Bee” newspaper articles are due by the end of the week.
Councilman Daniel
Miller made a motion to adjourn the meeting, Councilman McKurth seconded. 3 ayes, 0 noes, 2 absent.
Meeting adjourned at
7:25 PM.
The next regular
meeting of the Hume Town Board will be November 14, 2012 at 7:00 PM at the
Museum.
